First, the basic knowledge of heat insulation
Thermal insulation is a collective term for heat and cold retention.
Thermal insulation project is to ensure the optimal temperature range for normal production, minimise heat or cold loss in the process. Its heat preservation is to reduce the pipeline and equipment through the internal medium of heat conduction and radiation to the outside, with heat insulation (thermal insulation) materials to protect. Cold insulation is to reduce the external heat conduction to the inside of the object to be kept cold, with thermal insulation (cold insulation) materials to protect.
Heat insulation is one of the important means to improve the efficiency of cooling and heating, reduce energy consumption and product costs.
Thermal insulation project is the thermal insulation materials using artificial, mechanical methods laid in equipment, pipelines and other structural surfaces or interlayers to achieve thermal insulation effect of the whole process.
Second, the purpose of heat insulation
1. Ensure normal production. In the chemical production process, the temperature is an important condition for the reaction, if you can not maintain a constant temperature range in the reaction process, it will affect the reaction rate and changes, thus affecting the yield and quality of the product, therefore, the equipment and pipeline according to the design requirements of the heat insulation is very necessary.
2. Reduce heat loss and save energy. When the equipment, pipeline medium temperature is higher than the surrounding air temperature, the heat will be radiated through the metal wall to the surrounding air, resulting in heat loss, this heat loss is quite large. For example, when the nominal diameter of the pipe DN ≥ 100 mm, the pipe heat loss after reasonable insulation is only about 10% of the heat loss of the bare pipe; when the nominal diameter of the pipe DN <100 mm, the pipe heat loss after insulation is about 15% to 20% of the heat loss of the bare pipe, that is to say, after insulation heat loss can be reduced by 80% to 90%, thus saving a lot of energy.
3. Improve the labour environment and ensure the safety of operators. The high temperature equipment and pipeline inside the production workshop, in order to improve the working environment and insulation, can play the role of indoor cooling, heat. People may touch the high-temperature equipment local plus insulation layer, can prevent operators from scalding. This kind of insulation is called protective insulation.
4. avoid equipment and piping medium solidification, freezing, to maintain normal production. In the cold season, the solidification point of higher substances in the equipment and pipeline flow is not fast or stay a long time, it will produce freezing, blocking, so usually use anti-freezing protective thermal insulation. In addition, outdoor water supply and drainage pipes and water tanks may freeze if they work intermittently. Therefore, it is also necessary to make anti-freezing insulation.
5. Prevent evaporation loss. When the pipeline, equipment operating at low temperatures, to prevent the transfer of heat from the surrounding environment to the medium, resulting in evaporative loss of the medium, it is necessary to keep cold.
6. Prevent condensation on the external surface of equipment and piping. When the equipment, pipeline surface temperature is lower than or equal to the dew point temperature of the surrounding air, condensation will occur. In order to prevent condensation, it is necessary to keep cold.
7. Prevention of fire. In workshops where flammable products are produced, the legs or steel pillars of some large equipment should be insulated against fire in order to reduce fire hazards.
8. Sound insulation requirements. In some special occasions, usually using glass wool or other fibrous insulation materials with good sound damping effect laid on the outside of the equipment or piping can produce loud noise, in order to play a muffled sound insulation purposes, the sound insulation structure with the same as the general thermal insulation structure.
