Title of product Features
Parts for the pressure condition:
The reaction is taken place under the pressure of 25 times of atmospheric pressure, so the design pressure is set at 3 MPa. In order to ensure the reactor performance at such a high pressure, necessary parts and techniques are required and applied.
Body structure:
The reactor body is close style, which could ensure the pressure resistance with low material cost.
Material:
  • It is using stainless steel cladded carbon steel as the kettle's plate. The carbon steel has good strength and economic advantages.
  • Thickness of stainless steel plate is 3mm, and the carbon steel base is 26 mm. These two layers of steel plate are explosion welded tightly.
Flanges:
The nozzles of ports are welded with flanges that could withstand the high pressure.
Magnetic coupler:
The agitator is using magnetic coupler, which has good sealing and high strength for the pressure reaction.
Parts for the temperature adjusting:
Heating component:
  • The hydrogenation needs temeprature at 100°C to activate the catalyst, so the steam heating is chosen for the reactor.
  • We designed the jacket surrounding the reactor body, and opened the inlet port for the hot steam , so it could heat the reaction vessel.  The outlet port is opened on the opposite side at the bottom of the jacket, so the steam finished heating could be out of the jacket and to be reheated in the boiler.
Chilling part:
  • We designed the chilling part as inner cooling coils, and assembled it inside the kettle.
  • The coils are made from stainless steel S304 pipe, with the cooling water inlet/outlet stretched out.
  • The reason of using the chilling part is too keep the temperature around 100°C, because the hydrogenation is exothermic reaction, too much heat would make the chemical reaction to be uncontrollable.

Parts for the hydrogen gas:
  • Hydrogen is flammable so the explosion proof is strictly promised by the reactor. 
  • To meet the requirement, the electronic parts for the reactor must has ex-proof feature.
  • Besides the electronic parts, the other parts, such as coupler, nozzles, welding seams, must has high sealing feature to prevent the leaking of the hydrogen.
  • The gas sparger is used to help the gas / liquid contacting area as large as possible.
  • The strirrer close to the gas sparger is designed as round plate turbine blade, and high efficient self-suction type, these blades could make the gas bubbles even fine, so the gas-liquid contaction area could be even larger.
All of above parts are made as per the 20000L volume requirement. It is obviously not a simply enlarge as per scale, but a lots of proffesional caculations are needed.
