The half pipe coil jacket reactor is a typical industry reactor with heating principle of the external circulation heating. The thermal medium to be circulated along the halp pipe is hot water, steam, or oil. The chosen of medium depends on the highest temperature the reaction required. In this case, the work temperature is 120°C, so the steam and oil are all good to use.

Agitator:
  • Mechanical coupler:
The pressure required is negative 0.1 Mpa, or is called as vacuum. So, both the mechanical coupler and magnetic coupler could provide enough sealing effect for this application.  For economic purposes, we choose the mechanical coupler for this half pipe coil jacket reactor.
  • Reducer:
Although the strirring speed at 120RPM for the 6300L reactor is a quite high speed, comparing with motor original turning speed, it is still low. So the reducer is applied for speed reduction. 
  • Three layers of blades:
All of the blade type is impeller style.
Half pipe coil jacket:
  • They are manufactured as a single part before they're welded on the external wall fo the reactor cylinder.They are made from half pipe, usually carbon steel or stainless steel. 
  • The number of the coils are decided by the heat exchange area required by the reaction.
  • The coils profile is sometimes is circle, sometime is S shape.
  • It is usually welded with one coils, in some situation the coils is seperated into two or three smaller coils for accurate temperature controlling purposes.
  • The weld of the coils has to be zero leakage, or it is inspected as NG. 
  • The reactor with half pipe coil jacket seems much slimmer than ordinary jacket reactor, because the coils is saving a lot of spaces.
  • And because it is welded out side of the kettle wall, it could reinforce the strength the wall. So, for the reactor with same volume and heating exhanging requirement, the material uses for half coil jacket reactor is less than ordinary jacket reactor. It means, the cost of the reactor with half pipe coil jacket is consequently less than the reactor with normal jacket. 
  • The half pipe coils jacket has better heating exchanging efficiency than normal jacket reactor. It leads to a good energy saving during the operation.
